Misha'el, pronounced Mish- Shy- L has a Hebrew name that
means "one who is like God".
Born in Washington D.C. on August 27, 1982 she was raised on
the outskirts of D.C. in the suburban area of Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Her dad
a musician and evangelist, her mom a singer and chief budgeting officer,
together nurtured musical interests of Misha'el by keeping her involved in the
church choir as well as holding "mini family concerts" in their basement.
Exposed to gospel and soul music during her up bringing it
wasn't until her father made her go to her cousins 14th birthday party that she
was introduced to alternative rock music. "I walked in the door and the
band was playing No Doubt's 'Spider Web' I instantly fell in love with the
electric guitar and hypnotic beats." After showing such an interest in the
music she heard, her father introduced her to music from artist such as Jimi
Hendrix, Tina Turner, and Prince. Her family not only influenced her in the musical arena, but also in the world of theater and film. Her mother thought that she was extremely shy and wanted her to embrace her personality by joining an area modeling and acting team.
After the untimely death of her mother to stomach cancer,
Misha'el eventually moved to California to fully pursue music and acting
endeavors. There she met several people who are currently influential in her
entertainment carerr today. Misha’el received a
change in musical interests when introduced to electronic dance music.
Listening to artists like Zedd, Nero, Krewella, and Swedish House Mafia
Misha’el cultivated her own unique sound with the help of producers such as
b.Krafty (Purple Album) Cory Bold (Fly Panda / Keri Hilson) Javad Day (Estelle) Monte Neuble (Katy Perry) and
Keith Harris (Black Eyed Peas) while collaborating with writers Mauli b. (Boyz
II Men/The Senate) Tori Horgan (Nickelodeon/The Senate) and producer songwriter
engineer Devine Evans (The Senate/ Rihanna)
Involved with such productions as Sullivan and Son, in MY element, Mike and Molly, and booking her first national commercial she is on a quest to touch her audience through her gift.
